'Big Writing' Consultant

Having worked both nationally and internationally as a literacy consultant, Malcolm Kerridge is now recognised as a leading figure in Secondary education. His teaching experience spans an 'outstanding' 18 years of dedicated and unrivalled expertise. Advanced Skills Teacher, member of Senior Leadership Team and Whole School Literacy Consultant are some of the roles Malcolm has been employed in during his career.

It was following a 'Big Writing' course that he attended that he immediately saw the potential for a similar approach in Secondary education. The subsequent courses he developed are described as 'inspirational' and 'awesome'. However, it is probably his ability to 'enthuse' which is seen as the most lasting and ultimately most powerful benefit to schools aiming to raise attainment.

Often described as 'driven', Malcolm has seen it as his goal to equip all Secondary pupils with the ability to write. Increasingly, his role also brings him into the Primary sector. His focus, however, is always the same-developing writing skills.
